The NDBOA awarded a $1,000 scholarship to Kalie Gudmestad, a freshman at the North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton. Details, and a look at Todd Johsnon making the presentation, can be found on the Wahpeton Daily News site. Congrats, Kalie!
NDBOA is offering two matching scholarships to members who have been awarded a Code of Honor Scholarship to attend the ICC’s Annual Conference in Richmond, VA this October. For more details and to apply, download the ABM Scholarship Application. The deadline to apply is July 31, 2018. You may apply for the Code of Honor Scholarships from May 28-August 10, 2018.
The NDBOA is offering two scholarships worth $1,000 each to college-bound high school seniors heading into the construction trades, architecture, or engineering. Download the 2018 Scholarship Application and instructions for more details.
NDBOA’s new officers were sworn in at the recent meetings in Dickinson, ND. Christine Rose of Fargo is the new Past President while Shawn Ouradnik of Mandan is the new President. Lucas Olson of Fargo was sworn in as the Vice President and Todd Johnson of Wahpeton is the new Secretary/Treasurer.
The City of Mandan, North Dakota is currently accepting applications for the position of Building Official. You can get details and apply on their website. The application period closes July 14, 2017.

The spring gathering for 2017 will be held March 22-24, 2017 at the Baymont Inn and Suites in Fargo. The Executive Board and General Membership Meetings will be held on the 22nd.
Thursday, March 23rd, features not only a class on the 2015 IFC and IBC fire protection systems provisions but that evening there will be a reception for the NDBOA building officials that retired in the previous year.
Friday will focus on the legal aspects of code administration. Lunch will be provided both days. Details and the registration form are attached below.
As part of the NDBOA’s commitment to fostering a robust and knowledgeable building trade in North Dakota, they awarded their first scholarships for high school students going into a building-related field of study. Haley Hugelen and Garrett Goldader were each awarded a $1,000 scholarship in May, 2015.
