Motion to approve March meeting minutes – by Rich Barta, 2nd by Mark Lange. Notice brought to raise the dues to $30.00 motioned by Rich Barta, 2nd by Mark Lange. All Approved.
Treasurer Report – Discussed the payment to AMBO and Region III. Motion to approve Treasurers Report – by Rich Barta, 2nd by Don Siebert.
Executive Committee
Mark Lange gave an update on the changes being made to the bylaws and constitution.
Legislative Committee
Rich Barta – no concerns at this time.
Education Committee
Mark Lange suggested that all members bring up topics of interest. Discussed the subject of presenting a weeklong training session and offering a certification exam test at the end.
Historical Committee
Mark Lange – no comments.
Old Business
March meeting and seminar will be in Bismarck on March 1, 2, and 3, 2006 at the Comfort Inn. Education topic will be the Nonstructural Fire & Life Safety, which was cancelled at the Oct. 2005 Seminar.
By-Law Updates – It was discussed and agreed upon that the updates will be mailed out with the March 2006 Seminar and meeting invitations.
Promotional Items – Rich Barta made the motion to order new pins 2nd by Doug Lalim. Motioned by Rich Barta 2nd by Jon Benz to give a NDBOA bag to all attendees of the next meeting.
League of Cities Application – Rich Barta made the motion to postpone the application to the next meeting 2nd by Jon Benz.
Registering the NDBOA Logo with the state – It was discussed and a motion made to not register the logo with the state by Mark Lange 2nd by Paul Arends. Motion made to not change the logo on the web site by Mark Lange 2nd by Don Siebert.
Open Positions on Committees – It was discussed and agreed that no problems exist with the open positions on the committees.
New Business
Update on Region III – Neither Mel nor Chris were present to give update.
Annual meeting of ICC in Detroit – Doug Lalm gave a report – Ron Bell was named the Building Official of the Year. Minneapolis will be an upcoming meeting sight for the national convention and a reminder our banner should be used to show our representation at those events.
2006 Fall Meeting will be held in Minot the first week of October.
